TANDEM BIKE RIDE

We beat the dust
Of the trail
Into the ground
Together.

Vistas of green trees
And flowing rivers
Never stop,
Punctuated by
Deer, squirrels,
Groundhogs, chipmunks.

Our bodies are
Healthier, and
We glow.

We help some kids
Have a good time,
Sharing the music
Of wind and water.

When it's over,
After they leave,
For some moments
Comes the delicious feeling
That this
Is the way
It was always
Supposed to be.
